This photo enhancement was the first lesson as part of my Creative Media module at Gylndwr University. The task was to make the highlights in the image brighter whilst excluding the headlight of the classic car from the changes to the curves. After looking at how the headlight would appear without being excluded its clear that this was to prevent any detail being lost as certain parts of the headlight would merge into patches of white. I have worked in Photoshop before making similar changes before this however I usually never thought of excluding certain areas that would not benefit from the changes but I now see how simple and effective it is to do so.
Exercise 1B was really straight forward. Just adding some text to an image in a violet colour.
Exercise 1C was also simple enough to do but it was interesting to see a clipping mask used to restrict what could be edited. Before this I would have just used a selection while editing then deselected when finished.
