Exercise 5 was quite new to me as I have never really used masks and channels before in Photoshop. This exercise helped me get to grasps with how to create and edit masks to leave the remainder of the image showing such as the Buddhist monk statue being shown while the background is hidden by the mask. Changing the channels to find the channel with the highest black and white contrast then isolating the black panels with a levels adjustment to then create a mask from was quite an interesting and creative way of doing things and made me realize that there really is a lot of different ways of achieving the same thing in Photoshop, with some ways being more creative then others.
