The board game challenge made a bit of a change. The board game that we were given was Cartagena, a race game where you use cards to move forwards but have to move backwards to gain cards, so there is room for a lot of strategy. The mechanics of the game were sound and we decided that all was needed was aesthetic changes.
I used popplet to plan out the game plan and then designed it in photoshop afterwards. This made things alot quicker then planning and designing at the same time in photoshop.
I was then put in charge of changing the board to match our theme of space pirates. I got Ash to send me the same symbols that he had used to create the new playing cards so that they would match and tried to create a spacey feel to the new board peice.
I found it difficult to create a border so that peices could join without hideous patern miss matches so I created a border around the edge similar to the original just more ‘spacey’.
