Workshop 2 + 4 – Lizard

untitled

In this workshop we were tasked to produce a detailed lizard model using mudbox that would then be taken back into maya as a low poly model using a normal map to retain the high definition detail.

To create this I used various different sculpting tools such as sculpt smooth and flatten. To create the paint layer I used several different diffuse layers with different levels of transparency to add more depth to the colours. To gain a high detail on the face of the lizard I used the projection tool along with a stencil of a real lizard reference image.

The model I had used for workshop 2 I went on to increase the definition in workshop 4, due to this I will be including both of these workshops in this same post. The workshops were similar however workshop 4 taught me a more professional approach to increasing model detail on different layers and levels, along with paint layers being on different layers.
